Steve

Every day has been a blessing

Since the moment you arrived

Steve, you are my greatest treasure

The deepest joy in all my life

Watching how you've grown and changed now

Fills my spirit up with pride

But there's a picture in my memory

That the passing years can't hide

You are loving, you are caring

Always putting God first

You show up for this whole family

Through the better and the worse

But no matter how the years fly by

Or the man you've come to be

I'll always see that little blond haired boy

Looking back at me

You've got a heart that's full of kindness

Walking steady in your faith

You are there when people need you

Never asking for the praise

I am proud to call you son, Steve

Proud of everything you do

When I count the things I'm thankful for

I always start with you

You are loving, you are caring

Always putting God first

You show up for this whole family

Through the better and the worse

But no matter how the years fly by

Or the man you've come to be

I'll always see that little blond haired boy

Looking back at me

Time can turn the seasons over

And put some lines upon my face

But the innocence of childhood

Is a thing time can't erase

You stand so tall and faithful now

With a strong and gentle hand

But I still see my precious child

Inside this grown-up man

Yes, you're loving, you are caring

Always putting God first

You show up for this whole family

Through the better and the worse

And no matter how the years fly by

Or the man you've come to be

I'll always see that little blond haired boy

Looking back at me
