John

We met by chance, but heaven knew the plan

I found a truly loving, fiercely loyal man

You gave up everyone and everything you knew

To come to me when skies were anything but blue

You knew that it'd be hard, but you didn't hesitate

You took my hand in yours and helped me bear the weight

John, you showed me how to love, you showed me grace

With God right at the center of our sacred space

You're the gentleman who always has my back

Overcoming all the odds, there's nothing that we lack

I will love you as long as forever is

And our forever is a promise just like this

We learned each other fast, through the trials and the tears

Your fun and patient spirit chased away my fears

I watch the way you care for every creature that we see

So smart and so considerate, you mean the world to me

You treat me with respect, you listen when I speak

You are the steady ground I stand on when I'm weak

John, you showed me how to love, you showed me grace

With God right at the center of our sacred space

You're the gentleman who always has my back

Overcoming all the odds, there's nothing that we lack

I will love you as long as forever is

And our forever is a promise just like this

Your integrity is steady, your intentions are so pure

You defend me in the storms and make my heart secure

I see the very love of God reflecting out of you

In every little thoughtful thing you say and do

Nothing will come between us, no shadow and no dark

I am yours completely, until death do us part

John, you showed me how to love, you showed me grace

With God right at the center of our sacred space

You're the gentleman who always has my back

Overcoming all the odds, there's nothing that we lack

I will love you as long as forever is

And our forever is a promise just like this

Yes, I'll love you as long as forever is
