From the very first day you came into the world

You were a bright light, my beautiful girl

I pull you in close for a warm, tight hug

And hear you say "mama," surrounded by love

You've been glowing since the minute you were born

Chasing away the shadows and the storms

Oh Lexie, my sunshine, I love your yellow

A radiant spirit with a beautiful glow

You're a piece of my heart, outside of my body

A special gift from God, given to me

No matter where you go, no matter what you do

My Lexie, my sunshine, I am so in love with you

When I hear the sound of your beautiful voice

God speaks right through you, and my soul rejoices

Walking hand in hand, through the dark and the weather

We grew so much closer to Heaven together

You are so loving, so gentle and kind

The sweetest blessing that a mother could find

Oh Lexie, my sunshine, I love your yellow

A radiant spirit with a beautiful glow

You're a piece of my heart, outside of my body

A special gift from God, given to me

No matter where you go, no matter what you do

My Lexie, my sunshine, I am so in love with you

Along with your sister, you're the greatest of gifts

When my world is heavy, it's my spirit you lift

A holy connection that nothing can break

I thank the Lord for you with every breath I take

Oh Lexie, my sunshine, I love your yellow

A radiant spirit with a beautiful glow

You're a piece of my heart, outside of my body

A special gift from God, given to me

I'll hold you forever, so tender and true

My Lexie, my sunshine, I am so in love with you
