Deborah

You've got a wisdom that is far beyond your years

A sense of humor that can chase away my fears

You are so patient when the world is rushing by

A loving spirit that just lifts me to the sky

Oh, Deborah, I look at who you are today

And I just have to raise my hands to heaven and pray

You are the best thing that ever happened to me

A beautiful blessing for all the world to see

I love you, Deborah, with all my heart and soul

You are the joy that makes my spirit whole

I count my blessings, and it's plain to see

You are the best thing that ever happened to me

I still remember when you wore that cap and gown

You walked across the stage and turned your tassel 'round

And on the morning of your baptism day

I saw the grace of God wash every doubt away

Two precious moments etched forever in my mind

A sweeter daughter, I know I could never find

You are the best thing that ever happened to me

A beautiful blessing for all the world to see

I love you, Deborah, with all my heart and soul

You are the joy that makes my spirit whole

I count my blessings, and it's plain to see

You are the best thing that ever happened to me

Through every season, you have been my guiding light

You make the heaviest of days feel warm and bright

With every step you take, you show the love inside

You fill this parent's heart with overwhelming pride

Oh, I just want the whole wide world to know

My love is with you everywhere you go

'Cause you're the best thing that ever happened to me

A beautiful blessing for all the world to see

I love you, Deborah, with all my heart and soul

You are the joy that makes my spirit whole

Yes, you're the best thing, the very best thing

Oh, you're the best thing that ever happened to me!
