Kai

I still remember the day you arrived

The moment I looked in your brand new eyes

I held you close and I knew right then

My life was starting all over again

From your very first breath to the man that you are

Watching you grow is the best part by far

Kai, I want you to know that you are my heart

A love that was perfect right from the start

You're what makes me happy, the reason I smile

I'll be in your corner through every mile

Through all of your days, whatever you do

Grandma will always be here for you

I've cheered you on through the passing of years

Counting the candles and holding back tears

Your silly jokes always light up the room

Chasing away any shadows or gloom

I watched as you walked on your graduation stage

So proud as you stepped to a brand new page

Kai, I want you to know that you are my heart

A love that was perfect right from the start

You're what makes me happy, the reason I smile

I'll be in your corner through every mile

Through all of your days, whatever you do

Grandma will always be here for you

You're so deeply caring, so loving and kind

With a beautiful soul and a beautiful mind

Never lose hold of that silly, sweet spark

It’s the very same magic you leave on my heart

Kai, I want you to know that you are my heart

A love that was perfect right from the start

You're what makes me happy, the reason I smile

I'll be in your corner through every mile

Through all of your days, whatever you do

Grandma will always be here for you

I love you, Kai, I am always here for you
