Charles

Lord, I come with a heavy chest

Tangled up in this worldly stress

When I feel worthless and ashamed

I softly call upon Your name

For Your mercies are new with the morning sun

Pouring Your grace over all Charles has done

You wash away the shadows and lies

And open up my weary eyes

To the breath of a brand new day

Lord, guide my steps along the way

I count the blessings You bestow

To light the darkest roads I know

The love of my kids that keeps me here

The women in my life so dear

For Your mercies are new with the morning sun

Pouring Your grace over all Charles has done

You wash away the shadows and lies

And open up my weary eyes

To the breath of a brand new day

Lord, guide my steps along the way

You are close to the broken in heart

Holding me together when I fall apart

Through the guilt and the pain of the night

I wake to the hope of Your heavenly light

Yes, Your mercies are new with the morning sun

Pouring Your grace over all Charles has done

You wash away the shadows and lies

And open up my weary eyes

To the breath of a brand new day

Lord, guide my steps along the way
