Summer

I’ve fought some heavy battles in the night

A weary sinner reaching for the light

The world around me might be hard to see

But I refuse to let it limit me

My eyes are fading, but my faith is strong

And out of the struggle, God gives me a song

I’m gonna live, I’m gonna laugh

I’m gonna love like Jesus does

I’ll write the music in my heart

And sing about His perfect love

They call me Summer, and I know my worth

I know God has a purpose for my time on earth

I trace the chords and let the lyrics pour

Praising the Savior that I’m living for

I might be legally blind, but I’m not lost

I fix my inner vision on the cross

With every melody and every rhyme

I feel His grace unfolding, one note at a time

I don't need perfect sight to find my way

I trust the healing work that He's begun
