Goose

Two thousand and five, you came into view

I became an aunt for the first time with you

I fed your first bottle and held you so tight

Watching you sleep in the quiet of night

From the moment I met you, my whole world grew

And I knew I would always be watching over you

You're silly and sweet, a little bit weird

The most wonderful light since the day you appeared

I love all your kindness, it shines right through

I'm here for you forever, my sweet little Goo

I love you so deeply, and I always will

No matter the years, I am next to you still

I blinked and suddenly you were turning four

Holding your hand at the preschool door

We’d spend all our afternoons at Pirate Park

And read at the library until it grew dark

Taking care of you then, just watching you grow

Are the absolute best times that I'll ever know

You're silly and sweet, a little bit weird

The most wonderful light since the day you appeared

I love all your kindness, it shines right through

I'm here for you forever, my sweet little Goo

I love you so deeply, and I always will

No matter the years, I am next to you still

From a baby in my arms to the awesome girl I see

Your beautiful sweetness means everything to me

Goose, you are funny, so wonderfully kind

A more beautiful spirit, I never could find

I carry those memories wherever I go

And I just need to make sure you always know

You're silly and sweet, a little bit weird

The most wonderful light since the day you appeared

I love all your kindness, it shines right through

I'm here for you forever, my sweet little Goo

I love you so deeply, and I always will

I'm here for you forever, my sweet little Goo
