Chrissy

From the first beat of your heart, I felt the Lord's embrace,

He placed His child into my arms, a miracle of grace.

My heart was in an overload the moment we first met,

Through finger paints and dress-up days, I never will forget.

We built our castles in the sand and watched the evening sky,

Laying in the open field as starry nights rolled by.

Oh Chrissy, my cherished angel, the reason my heart beats,

You serve the Lord with open arms through strangers that you meet.

A heart of gold, a truthful soul, a faith so deep and true,

I am so lucky God looked down and chose me just for you.

Through road trips, church, gymnastics, to homecoming and prom,

Across the many states we drove, I loved being your mom.

We'd watch our favorite TV shows and do each other's hair,

Talk about boys, then lay in bed to say our morning prayer.

From quiet walks out at the park to lunch dates in the sun,

You brought a lasting joy and peace that had only begun.

Now I watch the woman you've become, your strength upon display,

Accepting everyone you meet, you walk a righteous way.

You set your goals and give your time to charities in need,

A true believer worshipping, you live by holy creed.

Your smile takes me right back in time to when you were so small,

I love you more than words can say, my greatest gift of all.

Oh Chrissy, my cherished angel, the reason my heart beats,

You serve the Lord with open arms through strangers that you meet.

A heart of gold, a truthful soul, a faith so deep and true,

I am so lucky God looked down and chose me just for you.

My sweet girl, my endless joy, God chose me just for you.
