Brenda

If I had never known the love of Jesus

I would be wandering, lost without a guide

You gave me patience when the storms were heavy

And kept me safely by my Savior's side

You made me resilient, steadfast, and true

My heart’s one desire is just pleasing You

For it is not by might, nor by earthly power

But by Your Spirit, Lord, in every hour

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

A woman after God’s own heart, I will forever be

I long to honor You and seek Your face

And rest securely in Your holy place

I want to lift Your name around the world

To let the beauty of Your grace unfurl

You taught me laughter is a healing medicine

A joyful light that lets Your kingdom in

You made me faithful, dependable, and wise

With heaven's vision shining in my eyes

For it is not by might, nor by earthly power

But by Your Spirit, Lord, in every hour

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

A woman after God’s own heart, I will forever be

I long to honor You and seek Your face

And rest securely in Your holy place

You called Your daughter, Brenda, by her name

And touched my spirit with a holy flame

I love the quiet of Your presence, Lord

I find my courage in Your living Word

Through every season, I will stand and sing

Because I know the goodness of my King

For it is not by might, nor by earthly power

But by Your Spirit, Lord, in every hour

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

A woman after God’s own heart, I will forever be

My one desire is to please my King

And in Your holy presence, I will sing
