Samantha

Out by the water, just the two of us

Waiting on a bobber, no hurry and no fuss

I can still hear you laughing, reeling in a fish

That quality time together was my only wish

Samantha, you grew up right before my eyes

Underneath those wide-open, blue summer skies

You’ve got a funny personality that makes the whole room bright

You can chase away the shadows when the day turns into night

And every time I look at you, I see your daddy's smile

I'd walk across this earth for you, every single mile

You're my daughter, my heart, right through to the end

I will love you always, Samantha, my best friend

Now I'm looking at you, glowing with a brand new life

Holding onto the future, shining so bright

You're carrying a miracle, a baby of your own

It's the sweetest kind of chapter that we have ever known

From a little girl with a fishing pole out on the shore

To a beautiful mother, I couldn't love you more

You’ve got a funny personality that makes the whole room bright

You can chase away the shadows when the day turns into night

And every time I look at you, I see your daddy's smile

I'd walk across this earth for you, every single mile

You're my daughter, my heart, right through to the end

I will love you always, Samantha, my best friend

The years keep moving faster than a river running downstream

But sitting there beside you is my favorite kind of dream

Your humor and your steady heart always get me through

There is nothing in this world like the time I spend with you

‘Cause you’ve got a funny personality that makes the whole room bright

You can chase away the shadows when the day turns into night

And every time I look at you, I see your daddy's smile

I'd walk across this earth for you, every single mile

You're my daughter, my heart, right through to the end

I will love you always, Samantha, my best friend
