Don

Oh Don, I see the quiet grace

Upon my father’s gentle face

You worked so hard through all the years

A steady hand to calm our fears

You gave your strength from morn to night

To fill our home with warmth and light

For He who started a good work in you

Is faithful and steady, is righteous and true

He’ll carry it on till the day of the Lord

Your labor of love is its own sweet reward

I cherish the moments we sit side by side

My father, provider, and faithful guide

The bread you earned, the paths you laid

The sacrifices quietly made

You gave your all to see us grow

Much more than simple words could show

And now the hours we spend in peace

Are tender blessings that increase

For He who started a good work in you

Is faithful and steady, is righteous and true

He’ll carry it on till the day of the Lord

Your labor of love is its own sweet reward

I cherish the moments we sit side by side

My father, provider, and faithful guide

The hands that built and gave so much

Are held within the Savior’s touch

His promise stands, His word is clear

He finishes what He started here

Through every season, every test

You gave to us your very best

For He who started a good work in you

Is faithful and steady, is righteous and true

He’ll carry it on till the day of the Lord

Your labor of love is its own sweet reward

I cherish the moments we sit side by side

My father, provider, and faithful guide
