Betty

Mama Betty, you brought five of us into this world

Watched as the paths of our lifetimes unfurled

You gave us your time and a comforting word

But most of all, Mama, you taught us the Word

Through every season, you stood in the gap

With a well-worn Bible right there on your lap

Your one true desire, your faithful decree

Is to see all your children saved and set free

To serve our Lord Jesus, to walk in His grace

And make it to heaven to look on His face

You’re praying we gather on that golden shore

Mama, we couldn't have asked for much more

You always encourage, you lift up our eyes

When the burdens of life start to darken the skies

And now that the family continues to grow

You pray for the grandkids wherever they go

You ask for their salvation day after day

Pleading with Jesus the exact same way

Your love for this family is a testament of grace

A quiet devotion that time can't erase

You never stop asking the Father above

To cover our souls in His infinite love

We feel every prayer that you whisper alone

Guiding our wandering footsteps back home

Your one true desire, your faithful decree

Is to see all your children saved and set free

To serve our Lord Jesus, to walk in His grace

And make it to heaven to look on His face

You’re praying we gather on that golden shore

Mama Betty, we'll see you right there at the door
