Leanna

In April of eighty-nine, the world felt new

We thanked the Lord when we were given you

We've watched the seasons change, we've watched you grow

Into the wonderful young lady that we know

A beautiful daughter, shining from the start

Carrying a gentle and devoted heart

Oh, Leanna, with a spirit so bright

Selfless and loving, a beacon of light

You're so patient with everyone, steady and true

My best friend, I am so grateful for you

And no matter how hard the journey may get

We are right here for you, don't ever forget

You love this family with an open hand

Building us up on a foundation that stands

But the greatest blessing that our eyes can see

Is knowing that you love Christ faithfully

You walk in His grace, and you follow His call

Showing such kindness and mercy to all

Oh, Leanna, with a spirit so bright

Selfless and loving, a beacon of light

You're so patient with everyone, steady and true

My best friend, I am so grateful for you

And no matter how hard the journey may get

We are right here for you, don't ever forget

When the road gets heavy and the mountains are steep

When the trials come and the valleys are deep

Keep your eyes on heaven, but look to us too

We are your shelter, we are walking with you

Through the storms and the shadows, whatever they send

We are standing beside you, my beautiful friend

Oh, Leanna, with a spirit so bright

Selfless and loving, a beacon of light

You're so patient with everyone, steady and true

My best friend, I am so grateful for you

And no matter how hard the journey may get

We are right here for you, don't ever forget

Yes, no matter how hard the journey may get

We are right here for you, don't ever forget
