Marshall

A faithful heart, a steady hand,

My Marshall, strong and true.

The most devoted, caring soul,

I found my peace in you.

You were my refuge from the storm,

Reliable and kind.

A loving light that led the way,

Now left a step behind.

Oh, my eternal love remains,

Held softly in God's hand.

I miss you more than words can say,

Or one could understand.

But I will trust the Lord's design,

Though we are forced to part.

I know you wait at Heaven's door,

Forever in my heart.

I cherish every step we took,

Upon the hiking trails.

We walked together, side by side,

Where nature's peace prevails.

And when the weary day was done,

You held me in your keep.

Protected by your loving arms,

I felt so safe to sleep.

Oh, my eternal love remains,

Held softly in God's hand.

I miss you more than words can say,

Or one could understand.

But I will trust the Lord's design,

Though we are forced to part.

I know you wait at Heaven's door,

Forever in my heart.

I miss the man who kept me safe,

My shelter and my guide.

I long to end this earthly hike,

And stand there by your side.

Oh, my eternal love remains,

Held softly in God's hand.

I miss you more than words can say,

Or one could understand.

But I will trust the Lord's design,

Though we are forced to part.

I know you wait at Heaven's door,

Forever in my heart.
