Veda

Flour on the counter, cooking side by side

Watching you grow up fills me with so much pride

From late-night school projects to the beauty you create

You're so talented and driven, building something great

Independent and hard-working, standing on your own

You're the most inspiring spirit that I've ever known

Oh, Veda, you're a light in all you do

So generous, respectful, with a heart so true

As you step out in the world to make your start

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart

Acknowledge Him in all your ways, my dear

And He shall direct your paths, making the vision clear

Walking through the aisles on our weekend shopping trips

An iced coffee in your hand and a smile upon your lips

You are so dependable, a rock when things get tough

I could never say I'm proud of my granddaughter enough

You carry such a grace in the heavy things you hold

A creative, gentle spirit with a heart of gold

Oh, Veda, you're a light in all you do

So generous, respectful, with a heart so true

As you step out in the world to make your start

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart

Acknowledge Him in all your ways, my dear

And He shall direct your paths, making the vision clear

When the questions gather and the shadows start to fall

Lean not unto thine own understanding through it all

Keep your faith in Heaven, let His wisdom be your guide

I will always be right here, cheering by your side

Oh, Veda, you're a light in all you do

So generous, respectful, with a heart so true

As you step out in the world to make your start

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart

Acknowledge Him in all your ways, my dear

And He shall direct your paths, making the vision clear

Yes, He shall direct your paths, year after year
