Porter

It started out in a crowded bar

I never guessed we would come this far

You made me laugh with an honest smile

And suddenly I wanted to stay a while

You’re the kindest man that I’ve ever known

With a generous heart that feels like home

Oh Porter, I will love you forever and a day

Through every single mile that comes our way

From the quiet Sunday drives to the starting line

I thank my lucky stars that you are mine

No matter where we go or what we see

I will always be your Moosie

Windows are down and there's nowhere to be

Just the open road, my husband, and me

I love the peace of the passenger seat

When the rhythm of the tires becomes our beat

Then the engines roar and the rubber burns

I'm cheering you on through the drag strip turns

Oh Porter, I will love you forever and a day

Through every single mile that comes our way

From the quiet Sunday drives to the starting line

I thank my lucky stars that you are mine

No matter where we go or what we see

I will always be your Moosie

Funny and true, you're my steady light

You make the heavy days feel so bright

A quarter-mile dash or a slow cruise home

As long as I'm with you, I'll never roam

Oh Porter, I will love you forever and a day

Through every single mile that comes our way

From the quiet Sunday drives to the starting line

I thank my lucky stars that you are mine

No matter where we go or what we see

I will always be your Moosie
