Elizabeth

Seventeen years since that parking lot meet

The gravel and asphalt right under our feet

An ex-friend brought you right into my view

And that's when I started falling for you

We built up a life from the seeds that we sowed

And I've loved you each step of this beautiful road

Oh, Elizabeth, fourteen years as my wife

The hard-working heartbeat of this crazy life

You take care of everyone, put yourself at the end

My selfless companion, my lover, my friend

I'm honored to stand by the woman I see

And the God-given talents you share with me

Blessed with Robert and Craydence, our beautiful twins

You anchor this house when the chaos begins

More often than not, you're out wrangling James

Holding us steady through all of life's games

You pour out your soul for the ones that you love

With a quiet, sweet patience that comes from above

Who knew that a joke would lead to a ring?

Now you're my forever, my everything

You are held by Jesus, and loved by us all

The one that we lean on whenever we fall

Oh, Elizabeth, fourteen years as my wife

The hard-working heartbeat of this crazy life

You take care of everyone, put yourself at the end

My selfless companion, my lover, my friend

I'm honored to stand by the woman I see

And the God-given talents you share with me

Seventeen years, and I still know it's true

Elizabeth, I am so honored to love you
