Ricky

We grew up with a secret, a shadow in the frame

Knowing we had a brother, but we didn't know your name

Mom was young and had to let you go, but she prayed for you each night

Wondering where you were, and if you were alright

Then a DNA test and a truth your wife revealed

Broke the quiet distance and the past that was concealed

Now the wondering is over, the missing piece is found

Mom has all her children standing on familiar ground

She doesn't have to look out at the sky and softly pray

She held you in her arms again and washed the years away

Ricky, you're our big brother, patient, kind, and true

Our family is finally complete because of you

We siblings pulled together, kept the secret out of sight

When Mom finally saw your face, her whole world turned to light

To see her hold the son she gave in love so long ago

Was the most amazing moment that our family will ever know

Looking at your smile, we can see the family face

Everything just settled right into its proper place

Now the wondering is over, the missing piece is found

Mom has all her children standing on familiar ground

She doesn't have to look out at the sky and softly pray

She held you in her arms again and washed the years away

Ricky, you're our big brother, patient, kind, and true

Our family is finally complete because of you

It’s sad we didn't get to share the years of growing up

But God has poured a blessing in our overflowing cup

That week in San Francisco, man, the memories we made

It broke our hearts to watch you leave, we wished you could have stayed

You live so far away now, but you're just a call away

You're funny and you're loving, and we miss you every day

But the wondering is over, the missing piece is found

Mom has all her children standing on familiar ground

She doesn't have to look out at the sky and softly pray

She held you in her arms again and washed the years away

Ricky, you're our big brother, patient, kind, and true

Our family is finally complete because of you
