Charity

You are my youngest child, the one I worry for the most

Guided by a quiet strength and the Holy Ghost

A loving mother, sister, and a truly faithful wife

You pour your gentle spirit into everybody's life

Patient and soft-spoken, with a heart for living things

You love the little animals and the peace that kindness brings

Always putting others first, before your own desires

Your selfless, tender soul is a light that never tires

Oh, sweet Charity, saved by the precious blood

Washed in the mercy of the Savior's healing flood

Remember God is always your everything, my dear

He will answer every prayer and wipe away your tear

Just move out of His way, let the Lord do what is best

Keep your faith in Jesus, and let Him order your steps

Through all the passing seasons, you are always standing here

Whenever I have needed you, you've always stayed so near

We share our brightest laughter, we share our falling tears

You've held my hand so gently through the worries and the fears

Thank you for not leaving, for staying by my side

Through the moments I was wrong, or blinded by my pride

Even when I said or did things that made you question my vanity

You only showed me grace, my sweet Charity

Oh, sweet Charity, saved by the precious blood

Washed in the mercy of the Savior's healing flood

Remember God is always your everything, my dear

He will answer every prayer and wipe away your tear

Just move out of His way, let the Lord do what is best

Keep your faith in Jesus, and let Him order your steps

He hears you in the morning, He hears you in the night

The Lord will fight your battles if you walk within His light

So lay down all your burdens, surrender every care

There is no mountain high enough to stop a faithful prayer

Just step aside and trust Him, His promises are true

The Maker of the heavens has a perfect plan for you

Oh, sweet Charity, saved by the precious blood

Washed in the mercy of the Savior's healing flood

Remember God is always your everything, my dear

He will answer every prayer and wipe away your tear

Just move out of His way, let the Lord do what is best

Keep your faith in Jesus, and let Him order your steps

Yes, keep your eyes on Jesus, and let Him order your steps
