Cody

It started with your sister, that's how we first met

A crazy rollercoaster that I'll never forget

We had our heavy weather, we had our ups and downs

But I saw the man you were when no one was around

Even at your worst, I knew who you could be

I knew you were a fight that meant the world to me

Oh, Cody, you're protective, a little crazy in the best way

Always making me smile when I'm having a heavy day

Through the good and the bad, the shadows and the light

I held onto my faith, and baby, you proved me right

Yeah, you proved me right

I'll never forget the moment our little girl arrived

You were holding my hand, staying right by my side

We brought a beautiful life into this spinning world

Just me and you, looking at our baby girl

But when the quiet finally settled and the tears had passed

You slept through the whole hospital stay, out so fast

Oh, Cody, you're protective, a little crazy in the best way

Always making me smile when I'm having a heavy day

Through the good and the bad, the shadows and the light

I held onto my faith, and baby, you proved me right

Yeah, you proved me right

Now I watch the way you hold her, so gentle and so kind

You're the most amazing dad, you give me peace of mind

You're my shelter, my support, the one I'm leaning on

Every doubt I ever had is completely gone

Oh, Cody, you're protective, a little crazy in the best way

Always making me smile when I'm having a heavy day

Through the good and the bad, the shadows and the light

I held onto my faith, and baby, you proved me right

You're an amazing dad, my love, my life

I knew you were worth it, and you proved me right
