Gloria

I still remember clocking in on that day

Learning the ropes and finding my way

I was just working for your mama back then

I didn't know I was meeting a friend

You walked in the room with a welcoming smile

And made me feel like I’d known you a while

Oh, Gloria, you're patient and wise

With a comforting truth in your eyes

You always know how to make me laugh

When I'm stumbling down a heavy path

For the encouragement and all that you do

I just want to say that I love you

You never rush when somebody needs time

You listen so close and you give me a sign

Whenever I doubt if I'm doing it right

You step in the shadows and turn on the light

With a joke and a grin, you lighten the load

You're the kind of friend that turns gravel to gold

Oh, Gloria, you're patient and wise

With a comforting truth in your eyes

You always know how to make me laugh

When I'm stumbling down a heavy path

For the encouragement and all that you do

I just want to say that I love you

From a name at the workplace to a bond that is deep

You're a treasure I'm lucky to keep

I look back at where it all began

And I wouldn't change a single plan

Oh, Gloria, you're patient and wise

With a comforting truth in your eyes

You always know how to make me laugh

When I'm stumbling down a heavy path

For the encouragement and all that you do

Thank you, Gloria, I love you
