Tony McGee Hatfield

We gather round and share the memories

The favorite moments made with Tony McGee

A steady hand, a brother through and through

The kind of friend who'd always stand by you

We miss the quiet strength you used to show

But there's a truth you wanted us to know

Tony McGee Hatfield, you taught us well

That if you ever find yourself walking through hell

You don't slow down, you just keep your stride

With a faithful friend walking by your side

You left a legacy of light now that you're gone

And a simple message for us to carry on

I think about the laughter that we shared

And how we always knew how much you cared

We miss the simple days, the easy smiles

The way you'd walk the extra hundred miles

Your friendship was a shelter in the wind

We were so lucky just to call you friend

Tony McGee Hatfield, you taught us well

That if you ever find yourself walking through hell

You don't slow down, you just keep your stride

With a faithful friend walking by your side

You left a legacy of light now that you're gone

And a simple message for us to carry on

The skies are clear, your heavy work is through

But we still feel the steady heart of you

Whenever shadows fall across the road

We'll help each other bear the heavy load

We'll play that country song and dry our eyes

And look for you up in the peaceful skies

'Cause Tony McGee Hatfield, you taught us well

That if you ever find yourself walking through hell

You don't slow down, you just keep your stride

With a faithful friend walking by your side

You left a legacy of light now that you're gone

And a simple message for us to carry on

Yeah, Tony, we're gonna carry on
