Jalen

Looking back to twenty-twenty-one

I didn't know my life had just begun

My phone lit up, one simple message came through

And my whole world shifted right to you

I used to fold my hands and pray for peace

For a love that brings my heart release

You brought the happiness I was searching for

Jalen, you're the man that I adore

You are my best friend, you are my safe place

I find my home looking at your face

Happy first anniversary, my forever and my guide

I'm so glad I'm standing by your side

I'll keep choosing you through joy and sorrow

Choosing you today, and choosing you tomorrow

You're so patient when the days get long

With your sense of humor, you keep my spirit strong

Protective arms that hold me through the night

Encouraging my soul to reach the light

Take me back to twenty-twenty-three

Down on the sand, right beside the sea

You asked the question with the ocean in view

And I knew I'd spend my life with you

You are my best friend, you are my safe place

I find my home looking at your face

Happy first anniversary, my forever and my guide

I'm so glad I'm standing by your side

I'll keep choosing you through joy and sorrow

Choosing you today, and choosing you tomorrow

I'm so grateful for the things you do

For our family, and the beautiful life we grew

With our hands together and our heads bowed low

We'll let God's love be the way we grow

Building this marriage on a rock so deep

A sacred promise that we're gonna keep

Jalen, you're my best friend, you are my safe place

I find my home looking at your face

Happy first anniversary, my forever and my guide

I'm so glad I'm standing by your side

I'll keep choosing you through joy and sorrow

Choosing you today, tomorrow, and forever
