Carrie

Carrie, your spirit is a guiding light

A heart full of happiness, shining so bright

You opened your arms to whoever came through

And showed them the unconditional love that you knew

A mother to everybody walking through the door

You treated them like yours and gave them so much more

Your soul is a beacon, your kindness is real

You change people's lives by the way that you heal

Oh Momma, I love you from the bottom of my heart

I wouldn't know what to do if we were ever apart

I know you're feeling down, but I know you are strong

You've carried this family your whole life long

You're the best lady that I'll ever know

And I just had to sing this to tell you so

I think of Thanksgiving and when Christmas comes around

The joy in our house is the sweetest sound

Especially your birthday, when the family gathers near

We show love to one another and we celebrate you here

The laughter, the memories, the fun that we share

It all happens, Momma, just because you are there

You taught us the meaning of a family's embrace

There is so much grace in this beautiful space

Oh Momma, I love you from the bottom of my heart

I wouldn't know what to do if we were ever apart

I know you're feeling down, but I know you are strong

You've carried this family your whole life long

You're the best lady that I'll ever know

And I just had to sing this to tell you so

I know you've been weary, I know you've been weak

But I'm praying for the strength and the comfort you seek

So get better soon, let your body restore

We'll go out to eat like we always did before

You are a fighter, a woman of grace

I can't wait to see that bright smile on your face

Oh Momma, I love you from the bottom of my heart

I wouldn't know what to do if we were ever apart

I know you're feeling down, but I know you are strong

You've carried this family your whole life long

You're the best lady that I'll ever know

Get better soon, Momma, I love you so
