Takisha

Takisha, my oldest, my beautiful girl

You brought the first light into my whole world

So smart and so caring, a spirit so bright

You walk through this life bathed in heavenly light

We sit at the table, just sharing a meal

Talking about all the things that we feel

Through every season, the joy and the pain

We laugh and we cry through the sun and the rain

Oh, you’ve got a great heart, a soul full of grace

I see the Lord's love shining right on your face

You're fiercely protective, so gentle and kind

With the sharpest of wit and a beautiful mind

You lift up my spirit, you make me complete

Every moment together is sacred and sweet

Sunday morning comes and we walk through the doors

Praising the Savior, my voice next to yours

Side by side in the pews, lifting hands to the sky

I thank God for you as the worship goes by

We see each other so much through the week

In every conversation, it's comfort we seek

You look out for me, you're my rock and my shield

With every kindness, His grace is revealed

Oh, you’ve got a great heart, a soul full of grace

I see the Lord's love shining right on your face

You're fiercely protective, so gentle and kind

With the sharpest of wit and a beautiful mind

You lift up my spirit, you make me complete

Every moment together is sacred and sweet

First Corinthians fourteen, verses four through seven

Says a clear, joyful sound brings a piece of His heaven

Just like an instrument, distinct and so true

The Lord made a beautiful melody in you

You edify others, you build up my soul

Your caring and wisdom just make my heart whole

Oh, you’ve got a great heart, a soul full of grace

I see the Lord's love shining right on your face

You're fiercely protective, so gentle and kind

With the sharpest of wit and a beautiful mind

You lift up my spirit, you make me complete

Takisha, you make every season so sweet
