Rick

Looking up into those deep green eyes

I see a love that is honest and wise

Tall and handsome, carrying the load

You've always been my anchor on the road

You might seem stern to the passing crowd

But your loving heart always makes me proud

God must have known exactly what I'd need

When He looked down and picked you just for me

I appreciate all that you do for our home

With a hardworking man, I'm never alone

No matter the distance, no matter the town

Rick, it's us against the world, then and now

I still think about the cab of that Peterbilt

And the beautiful life that the two of us built

Riding shotgun while you shifted the gears

Delivering loads through the best of our years

Watching the country roll by through the glass

Wishing those highway miles wouldn't go so fast

God must have known exactly what I'd need

When He looked down and picked you just for me

I appreciate all that you do for our home

With a hardworking man, I'm never alone

No matter the distance, no matter the town

Rick, it's us against the world, then and now

You're the rock of this family, steady and strong

Right by your side is where I belong

You wake up and give everything that you can

I’m so blessed to be loved by my favorite man

God must have known exactly what I'd need

When He looked down and picked you just for me

I appreciate all that you do for our home

With a hardworking man, I'm never alone

No matter the distance, no matter the town

Rick, it's us against the world, then and now

Yeah, in that old Peterbilt or right here at home

It's us against the world, as we watch our love grow
