Steven

You were ten years old when the Lord above

Brought you into my life to love

From that very first day, right from the start

You’ve always had a place right here in my heart

I've watched you grow since you were a boy

Filling up my spirit with a whole lot of joy

I've seen you become a wonderful Christian young man

Led by the grace of the Savior's hand

Oh, Steven, you love to learn and teach the Word

Sharing the greatest truth you've ever heard

God has brought you such a long, long way

Walking in His light every single day

Keep that King James Bible open wide

With Jesus Christ as your faithful guide

Your Dad brought you up in the old church pew

Showing the love of the Father to you

He stood up and preached God’s Holy Word

Making sure the gospel was clearly heard

Reading right out of his King James Book

He taught you exactly where you should look

Now you take those lessons and share them around

Planting the seed in the good, solid ground

Oh, Steven, you love to learn and teach the Word

Sharing the greatest truth you've ever heard

God has brought you such a long, long way

Walking in His light every single day

Keep that King James Bible open wide

With Jesus Christ as your faithful guide

When God calls us both to our heavenly home

Always remember you are never alone

Just follow Jesus and stay in your Word

Hold on to the promises that you have heard

Because one day when it's time, the trumpet will sound

And we’ll all be together on higher ground

Oh, Steven, you love to learn and teach the Word

Sharing the greatest truth you've ever heard

God has brought you such a long, long way

Walking in His light every single day

Keep that King James Bible open wide

With Jesus Christ as your faithful guide

Keep following Jesus, stay strong and true

We'll all be together when this life is through
