Brittany

I remember hanging you upside down

Letting the dogs jump up and lick your face

Getting stuck in the woods on the edge of town

With any old wheels we could drag to that place

Swimming at Memaw's through the laughs and the tears

I taught you to stand up and fight for your name

You punched that little boy, and I got in trouble

But it was worth it, I'd gladly take the blame

Brittany, you're a badass, independent and strong

You survived the kind of things where most go wrong

You've got a headstrong mind and a heart so wide

I might be older, but you're my guide

We may not share blood, but you're all I've got

You stood right beside me no matter what

Yeah, you love so hard in all that you do

My little sister, through and through

You had your little girl when you were sixteen

Stepped right up and you figured it out

Making sure your family has all that they need

You never let a single day end in doubt

You even took my own right under your wing

You've got a soft side underneath the tough

You don't give up on folks till they make you quit

You're a steady hand when the world gets rough

Brittany, you're a badass, independent and strong

You survived the kind of things where most go wrong

You've got a headstrong mind and a heart so wide

I might be older, but you're my guide

We may not share blood, but you're all I've got

You stood right beside me no matter what

Yeah, you love so hard in all that you do

My little sister, through and through

I know I put y'all through a whole lot of shit

But you're still right here, pushing me to keep going

You never let me just pack up and quit

You kept the grace and the forgiveness flowing

You're the smartest woman that I've ever known

And I'm so damn proud to watch how you've grown

'Cause Brittany, you're a badass, independent and strong

You survived the kind of things where most go wrong

You've got a headstrong mind and a heart so wide

I might be older, but you're my guide

We may not share blood, but you're all I've got

I will love you forever, no matter what

Yeah, you love so hard in all that you do

My little sister, through and through
