Rich

Born back in nineteen thirty-eight

You watched the world change, you watched it elevate

Eighty-eight years of a life well spent

A hard-working man, everywhere you went

Today is the day that we celebrate your name

Rich, my life is better since the day you came

Happy birthday to a mentor and a friend

I'm standing in your corner, on that you can depend

Billy won't forget the happy times we've known

Or the guidance and the wisdom you've always shown

Through the seasons and the years, I just want to say

Happy eighty-eighth birthday to you today

Sixty-four countries, you've traveled the earth

Showing everybody what a good man is worth

I remember the days working hard on the farm

Side by side, keeping each other from harm

You taught me the value of earning my keep

Those memories with you, I'll always hold deep

Happy birthday to a mentor and a friend

I'm standing in your corner, on that you can depend

Billy won't forget the happy times we've known

Or the guidance and the wisdom you've always shown

Through the seasons and the years, I just want to say

Happy eighty-eighth birthday to you today

From nineteen thirty-eight to where we stand right now

You've gathered so much wisdom, and you always showed me how

A lifetime full of stories from the places that you've been

Through every shifting era, through the thick and through the thin

You took me 'neath your wing and showed me wrong from right

I'm raising up my glass to honor you tonight

And don't you worry 'bout a single thing

I'll keep every promise, whatever life brings

And I'll always make sure your hair is looking right

For them playboy bunnies when you step out tonight

Yeah, I'll keep my word, you can count on me

That's the way a real brotherhood should be

So happy birthday to a mentor and a friend

I'm standing in your corner, on that you can depend

Billy won't forget the happy times we've known

Working on the farm, look how much we've grown

Eighty-eight years, and you're still shining bright

Happy birthday, Rich, let's celebrate tonight

Yeah, happy eighty-eighth birthday, Rich, you're going strong

Billy's gonna celebrate you all night long

Keep your hair looking right, keep on traveling the land

Here's to the greatest mentor and a hard-working man

From the fields on the farm to the countries you've seen

You're the finest friend that there has ever been

Happy birthday, my friend...

Eighty-eight years of a life well spent...

Yeah, happy birthday, Rich...

We're standing in your corner...
