Ally

I look back at the years and the moments we have spent

Every single memory is a gift that heaven sent

My sweet granddaughter Ally, with a smile for everyone

Your friendly heart has always been as bright as the sun

I still think about the trails and the crisp, cold air

Those trips up to the mountains, we had no worries there

Oh, Ally, I am proud of the woman that you are

Watching you with Finley and Rosie, you're a star

You give them all the love that a mother ever could

You're building up a life that is beautiful and good

No matter where you go, no matter what you do

I will always be right here, supporting you

I see the way you hold them, I see the way you care

You pass along the kindness that you always have to share

It feels like only yesterday we were climbing up the pines

Now I get to sit back and watch how my girl shines

You balance every moment with a gentle, steady grace

And put a happy smile on everybody's face

Oh, Ally, I am proud of the woman that you are

Watching you with Finley and Rosie, you're a star

You give them all the love that a mother ever could

You're building up a life that is beautiful and good

No matter where you go, no matter what you do

I will always be right here, supporting you

From the little girl I guided when the mountain paths got steep

To the mother making promises she knows that she will keep

You have grown into a wonder, but you're still my little one

And I'll be in your corner until my days are done

Oh, Ally, I am proud of the woman that you are

Watching you with Finley and Rosie, you're a star

You give them all the love that a mother ever could

You're building up a family that is beautiful and good

No matter where you go, no matter what you do

I will always be right here, supporting you
