Gilbert

A table by the water in the fading light

We shared a quiet dinner on that autumn night

September twenty-seventh, twenty-twenty-six

The stars aligned and everything just clicked

You leaned in close, I felt that very first kiss

I never knew a love as sweet as this

Oh, Gilbert, you are patient, you are kind

You give me your attention and your time

Thank you for the laughter and the care

For the unforgettable moments that we share

You hold my heart so gently, safe and true

I am so completely in love with you

You show me that you love me in the things you do

Like preparing dinner just for me and you

You pour your whole heart into every day

And chase the heavy shadows of the world away

Whenever I am down, you make me smile

You make every second of this life worthwhile

Oh, Gilbert, you are patient, you are kind

You give me your attention and your time

Thank you for the laughter and the care

For the unforgettable moments that we share

You hold my heart so gently, safe and true

I am so completely in love with you

A tender kind of loving, a steady embrace

I find my comfort looking at your face

From that beachside table to the life we make

I'll cherish every beautiful memory we create

Oh, Gilbert, you are patient, you are kind

You give me your attention and your time

Thank you for the laughter and the care

For the unforgettable moments that we share

You hold my heart so gently, safe and true

Since that September night, I've loved just you
