Ruth

Looking back across the years we've known

Seeing how the seeds of faith have grown

Through seasons passing, side by side

With heaven's mercy as our guide

Ruth, your heart has been a steady place

A living picture of His grace

Thank you for the love you freely give

Showing how a servant's meant to live

From Buffalo Church to the prayers we pray

You share His Word and light the way

I thank the Lord for the gift He sends

In the beautiful blessing of a faithful friend

Gathered 'round the table, Bibles wide

Seeking the truth with nothing to hide

You read the verses, soft and clear

Bringing the Father's presence near

Every chapter that we journey through

I see the love of Christ in you

Thank you for the love you freely give

Showing how a servant's meant to live

From Buffalo Church to the prayers we pray

You share His Word and light the way

I thank the Lord for the gift He sends

In the beautiful blessing of a faithful friend

For every hour you poured into the fold

For every story of His kingdom told

The roots go deep, the branches reach above

Watered by a lifetime of your love

So let this song be a simple prayer

To thank you for the faith we share

May God surround you, Ruth, today

For all the warmth you give away

A steadfast sister in the Lord

Forever resting in His Word

Thank you for the love you freely give

Showing how a servant's meant to live

From Buffalo Church to the prayers we pray

You share His Word and light the way

I thank the Lord for the gift He sends

In the beautiful blessing of a faithful friend

Yes, I thank the Lord for the gift He sends

Ruth, my sister and my friend
