Rachel

Back in elementary school, you were the brand new kid

I walked right up to say hello, and I'm so glad I did

We didn't need a lot of time to figure it out

Immediate friends, without a shadow of doubt

From the playground days to the women we are

You've always been my constant, my guiding star

Rachel, you are the inspiration in my life

A gentle soul who carries me through the night

You never judge, you only take me as I am

I know He holds our story in the palm of His hand

Jeremiah twenty-nine eleven is ringing true

A hope and a future, and I'm so glad I love you

I still think about the day we ended up stranded

Wondering exactly how the two of us landed

Lost on the side of the road in the dark

Until God sent an angel to give us a spark

And it makes me smile thinking of my Granny's face

When she looked right at you and decided to call you Grace

Rachel, you are the inspiration in my life

A gentle soul who carries me through the night

You never judge, you only take me as I am

I know He holds our story in the palm of His hand

Jeremiah twenty-nine eleven is ringing true

A hope and a future, and I'm so glad I love you

Because grace is exactly the way that you move

With nothing to hide and nothing to prove

Just a kind, loving spirit that anchors my soul

Whenever I'm heavy, you help make me whole

My chosen sister, my very best friend

I'll be right beside you until the very end

Rachel, you are the inspiration in my life

A gentle soul who carries me through the night

You never judge, you only take me as I am

I know He holds our story in the palm of His hand

Jeremiah twenty-nine eleven is ringing true

A hope and a future, I'll always love you

Yeah, a hope and a future, I'll always love you
