Looking back on those Decembers in my mind

All the effort and the hours that you gave

Every magical morning I can find

Was a testament to the love you'd always save

You were working so hard behind the scenes

Giving everything to build my childhood dreams

Lord, I thank You for the mother that You gave me

Selfless and humble, a light unto my world

Through every sacrifice, she loved me so completely

And no matter how I grow, I'm still her little girl

I look at her and see the Word manifest

Her children rise up and call her blessed

I couldn't see the heavy weight upon your shoulders

When I was young and wrapped up in the glow

But my eyes are opening as I get older

To the depths of the grace you'd always show

You protected my spirit right from the start

And taught me how to love with my whole heart
