Refuged youth

I look around the sanctuary, see your faces shine

A heavy road behind you, but you're trusting the divine

When you lift your hands to heaven, bowing down in awe

I watch you reverence and praise, surrendering it all

Your worship is a fire, a light inside the dark

I see the strength of heaven written on your heart

Oh, you are the future, shining so bright

Stepping out of the shadows and into the light

Keep walking in faith, whatever you do

And remember that respect will carry you through

Yeah, respect will carry you through

I look at you and see the greatness waiting to unfold

You've got a destiny, a story waiting to be told

Doctors healing bodies, lawyers fighting for the right

Mechanics fixing engines, making sure it runs right

Chefs feeding the soul, teachers opening the mind

College professors and pastors, leaving the past behind

Oh, you are the future, shining so bright

Stepping out of the shadows and into the light

Keep walking in faith, whatever you do

And remember that respect will carry you through

Yeah, respect will carry you through

You came seeking refuge, you found a holy place

Now you're stepping into power, covered in His grace

Honor where you came from, honor who you meet

Let kindness be the rhythm that is guiding your feet

You're the leaders of tomorrow, standing here today

With your hands raised up to worship, you will find the way

'Cause you are the future, shining so bright

Stepping out of the shadows and into the light

Keep walking in faith, whatever you do

And remember that respect will carry you through

Yeah, respect will carry you through

Hold on to the praise, hold on to the truth

Respect will always carry you through
