Lenora

Lenora, you walked with a spirit so kind

Leaving a trail of sweet mercy behind

Hands that were hard-working, steady, and strong

Teaching us right and forgiving the wrong

You took care of all of the moves that we made

A respectful foundation that never will fade

Oh, Mama, we love you, we lift up your name

A beautiful soul with a heavenly flame

You kept up a house for the children to stay

A shelter of kindness that lit up the way

We all love you, Mama, our voices ring out

Lenora, your grace is what love is about

You looked at our kids and you loved every one

A mother's devotion that shone like the sun

Through every transition, you guided the way

You carried the burdens and brightened the day

Right up to the moment you took your last breath

You gave us a love that is stronger than death

Oh, Mama, we love you, we lift up your name

A beautiful soul with a heavenly flame

You kept up a house for the children to stay

A shelter of kindness that lit up the way

We all love you, Mama, our voices ring out

Lenora, your grace is what love is about

Hallelujah for the woman you were!

A rock and a refuge, so gentle and pure

You gave us your heart, yes, you gave us your best

Now, Mama, it’s time for your spirit to rest

Your labor is over, the victory won

But the love that you planted has only begun!

Oh, Mama, we love you, we lift up your name

A beautiful soul with a heavenly flame

You kept up a house for the children to stay

A shelter of kindness that lit up the way

Right down to the moment you took your last breath

We all love you, Mama, in life and in death!

Lenora, we love you!
