I walked away from the bruises of a broken vow

Stepped out in the cold, didn't know where or how

The people I loved just turned their eyes away

Family and friends fading into the gray

Years without a roof, nowhere to lay my head

Just a heavy heart and the bitter tears I shed

But down at rock bottom, when I couldn't stand

I felt the quiet comfort of God's steady hand

Drawn out of the dark and into the living

God has a purpose for this resilient soul

I am fully accepted, and finally made whole

I felt Him guide my feet through the wandering days

Trading my panic for peace, parting the haze

He led me to a sanctuary, doors open wide

I found a new church where I don't have to hide

Got a key to a home, a quiet place to breathe

Rooted in the truth of the things I believe

Compassion and empathy grew from the pain

A faith-filled woman, washed clean in the rain
