Legacy

It started out with words upon a penpal page

Two strangers reaching out across an empty space

I typed out my stories, you read every line

I didn't know back then that you would soon be mine

Every message brought me closer to your soul

Until the day we met and made each other whole

Legacy, you are my everything

The quiet and the comfort that you bring

You are my peace, my steady and my calm

I'm safe inside the shelter of your arms

With a pure heart shining, honest and true

Legacy, I am so in love with you

I look at my husband and I see the light

A genuine spirit making everything right

You never hide away, you're honest to the core

With a deep compassion that I just adore

You listen when I'm heavy, you hold me when I break

You are the softest landing I could ever make

Legacy, you are my everything

The quiet and the comfort that you bring

You are my peace, my steady and my calm

I'm safe inside the shelter of your arms

With a pure heart shining, honest and true

Legacy, I am so in love with you

From the very first letter to the vows we swore

Every single day I just love you more

You're the truth in a world that spins out of control

The beautiful words that came and healed my soul

Legacy, you are my everything

The quiet and the comfort that you bring

You are my peace, my steady and my calm

I'm safe inside the shelter of your arms

With a pure heart shining, honest and true

Legacy, I am so in love with you

My peace, my calm, my everything is you
