I walked the valley where the shadows fell

When the word was cancer, and the tears would swell

But I held my faith when the nights grew long

I knew my Savior would be my song

He touched my body and He made me whole

The Great Physician who restored my soul

Many are the afflictions of the righteous

But the Lord will deliver us out of them all

I remember the metal, the shattering glass

A moment of darkness that came to pass

An almost fatal wreck on the road

But the angels of mercy lightened the load

Out of the wreckage, He healed me again
