shawn

Smoke in the air at a motel lot

A barbecue party, the weather was hot

I saw you standing, catching my eye

I knew I couldn't just let you walk by

So I made my move, I didn't balk

I sat right beside you, I wanted to talk

Just a couple of strangers sharing a space

But I saw my future right there in your face

Oh Shawn, you love me like nobody can

You're my laughter, my center, my husband, my man

You make me so happy, you make my heart light

With you by my side, everything is alright

You're funny, you're sweet, and my skies are all blue

Since I took the seat next to you

From paper plates and a casual smile

To walking together for mile after mile

You crack a quick joke and the worries just fade

I look at this beautiful life that we made

No one on earth makes me feel quite this way

You chase all the heavy gray shadows away

You know how to hold me, you know what to do

I'm so glad I started that talking with you

Who would have thought at a motel grill

I'd find the one who makes time stand still?

I just wanted a word, I just wanted a spark

Now you're the fire that lights up the dark

Oh Shawn, you love me like nobody can

You're my laughter, my center, my husband, my man

You make me so happy, you make my heart light

With you by my side, everything is alright

You're funny, you're sweet, and my skies are all blue

Since I took the seat next to you
