Dave

The wooden floor, the rolling wheels

A gathering where the spirit heals

More than thirty years have passed

Since that first night our lots were cast

We skated round, hand held in hand

Not knowing what the Lord had planned

But Dave, you were a gentle spark

A light that guided through the dark

Oh, a steady kind of grace

Is shining from your quiet face

With helpful hands and words of peace

You make the heavy worries cease

A rock of strong encouragement

A faithful love that heaven sent

Through every joy and every tear

My husband, you are anchored here

The Lord has blessed our winding way

With three sweet daughters, day by day

We watched them grow, we watched them bloom

And chased the shadows from the room

When hard times came to test our soul

You helped to keep this family whole

You stood so firm and held the line

And kept your hand right here in mine

Oh, a steady kind of grace

Is shining from your quiet face

With helpful hands and words of peace

You make the heavy worries cease

A rock of strong encouragement

A faithful love that heaven sent

Through every joy and every tear

My husband, you are anchored here

Three decades now of shared belief

Through seasons of both joy and grief

You always know just what to say

To lift my spirit on the way

A gentle man, a tender heart

Just as we promised at the start

Oh, a steady kind of grace

Is shining from your quiet face

With helpful hands and words of peace

You make the heavy worries cease

A rock of strong encouragement

A faithful love that heaven sent

Through thirty years and every tear

My husband, you are anchored here
