Lorenzo

It was a Halloween party, shadows and autumn air

You reached out so gentle and touched my silky long hair

You said you loved the way it falls, and right then I just knew

Lorenzo, my heart was already falling for you

You’ve got a beautiful heart and a spirit so strong

You work hard for this family, but you keep me laughing all night long

From cooking out in the backyard to the South Padre Island sun

We’re taking it one day at a time, and our story’s just begun

We dated for a few sweet years, building a life of our own

Then you walked right into my workplace and made your intentions known

You got down on one knee that day and changed my whole life

And standing in your hometown church, I became your wife

You’ve got a beautiful heart and a spirit so strong

You work hard for this family, but you keep me laughing all night long

From cooking out in the backyard to the South Padre Island sun

We’re taking it one day at a time, and our story’s just begun

When the smoke from the grill fades into the evening sky

I look at the man that I married, and I never have to wonder why

Through the highs and the lows, whatever comes our way

I'll hold onto your hand, Lorenzo, day by everyday

'Cause you’ve got a beautiful heart and a spirit so strong

You work hard for this family, but you keep me laughing all night long

From cooking out in the backyard to the South Padre Island sun

We’re taking it one day at a time, and our story’s just begun

Yeah, one day at a time, Lorenzo, you're my only one
